CNET Networks and TradeDoubler take on the European onlilne shopping market.

30 Август 2004 г.

CNET Networks, a premier global interactive content company, has selected TradeDoubler, the European market leader for online performance-based marketing, to manage and track its high-end advertisers through TradeDoubler’s Media Toolbox solution. The agreement, which will also include the set up of a public affiliate program within the next few months in the UK, France and Germany, will allow CNET Networks (CNET), a key player in the US online shopping market, to become a stronger contender on this side of the Atlantic.

Through this partnership TradeDoubler will track the impact of CNET’s website traffic and examine the value of its online campaigns allowing CNET to manage relationships with advertisers. From these results, CNET will be able to decipher the most successful elements of its European online shopping services and develop its offering for potential shoppers, in a more targeted way, ensuring the company is closer to its customers.

Will Cooper, Chief Marketing Officer, TradeDoubler commented: “Through our Media Toolbox solution CNET is able to analyse the value of its outgoing traffic through an objective, third party tracking tool and maximise its revenues by identifying which sections of its sites are producing the best results for its clients . Up to twenty real-time reports can be generated through the Media Toolbox, providing a breakdown of sales, leads activities and transactions. Our solution provides CNET with the ability to track its website traffic and continually evaluate ways to improve its offering to merchants”

CNET’s European portfolio includes top information sites such as zdnet.co.uk, silicon.com, zdnet.de, zdnet.fr and msnCNET.fr. By using TradeDoubler’s Media Toolbox, CNET is able to monitor its performance as a publisher of all its online marketing campaigns, by ensuring that by targeting the right audiences for the right products and services it is providing quality traffic for its advertisers. TradeDoubler’s Will Cooper continued: “Our solution gives CNET the strategic advantage over its competitors, by providing the tools to offer a higher-level of accountability and consultancy to its clients. The Media Toolbox is rapidly becoming the killer application when it comes to demonstrating return on investment in internet advertising. This notion is supported by the latest figures from the Forrester Research, which predicts web advertising in Europe will increase from €1.2 billion in 2003 to over €5 billion by 2007.

CNET’s Media Toolbox agreement with TradeDoubler has recently launched in France and the UK, with plans to extend the offering to Germany soon. CNET will be managing the whole of its European online marketing system from a control centre in Paris.

Philip Der Sahaguian, General Business Manager, CNET Networks France and Shopping Services Europe commented: “TradeDoubler's Media Toolbox was an obvious choice for CNET as it is evident that the Media Toolbox is built with a business and results focus based on TradeDoubler’s online marketing knowledge rather than from a purely technical perspective. The Media Toolbox will help CNET to evaluate and measure the effectiveness of its online shopping proposition. TradeDoubler‘s knowledge and previous experience working with some of our existing clients within the online marketing industry has and will continue to be the key to the success of our partnership.”
